The Sony Bravia KDL-40V3000 delivers the full HD experience at a low cost, while retaining Sony’s excellent build quality and software. Amazon is selling the Sony Bravia KDL-40V3000 for $1,499.99 (reg. $1,899.99) with free shipping and option for 18-month no-interest financing.
Specs:The 40” KDL-40V3000 features a resolution of 1920 x 1080, 1800:1 contrast ratio (16,000 dynamic), 500cd/m2 brightness, Nicam sound system, digital tuner, and several inputs ( 3 HDMI, component video, 2 SCART, VGA input, and component video).
Performance:
The KDL-40V3000 sits below the X and W range but still maintains the Bravia monicker with innovative technology (BRAVIA Engine, Live Colour Creation, 24p True Cinema, and BRAVIA Theatre Sync) minus the glass frames, 10-bit panel, Sony’s Motionflow, and x.v.Colour technology. Overall, the trade-offs are worth the significant price difference.
24p True Cinema enables the KDL-40V3000 to display films at 24fpsrather than 25fps, which recreates the most authentic movie experience.
The virtual surround sound technology, S-Force Front Surround, does an admirable job, especially if you plan on holding off on a sound system.
The KDL-40V300 delivers accurate color reproduction, which improves significantly on prior over-saturated LCD panels. Blacks are excellent, and are a testament to the closing gap between plasma and LCD technologies. Shadow detailing is impeccable.
Standard Definition performance is admirable, and better than several counterparts.
Conclusion:
The Sony Bravia KDL-40V3000 is a superb LCD for its class.
