LCD HDTV Price Watch

sony braviaLCD flat panel televisions were once the most profitable product in any electronics store. Wal-Mart pushed the envelope by decreasing LCD prices to all time lows that drove Circuit City to close most of its box stores. The HDTV era seems to have officially arrived with the new prices, which fit comfortably within most buyers budgets. Many consumers believe prices will keep falling, but recent reports seem to indicate that the price of LCDs can be compared to the erratic market of RAM memory prices.

Wired News has recently reported on the rebounding price of wholesale LCD flat panels. The rise of the most expensive component in LCD marks the end of retail price cuts. The price will inevitably take effect with the entrance of new models with slightly refreshed specs. iSuppli.com presents several stats proving the price hike, needed to control supplies before the critical Christmas season. Retailers will absorb the losses to tack on higher ones on the new generation of HDTVs.
