College Dorm Room Buying Guide

Most college students tackle the task of furnishing their dorm with the misconception that their dorm will be huge or that their moving into a prison. Students forget the importance of this small space. Here are several tips for furnishing and organizing a dorm room. The guide is separated into four sections: storage, lamps, bedding, and decorations.
Know your Dorm Room: You should go to your school’s website and view the pictures of the rooms. Read all the rules of what items are not allowed. The school provides you with a list of items that are already procvided. Talk to your roommate and split the list of objects each person is obligated to bring.Do not bring any heavy furniture with you.
Storage
-Buying the proper storage bins to maximize the space means going vertical. All your storage should be portable to a certain extent and stackable.
-Hangers will come in handy for everything
-Raise the bed, which will allow you place a bunch of stuff under the bed.
Lamps
-Dorm rooms usually lit with fluorescent lights. A desk lamp and and bed lamp will go a long way at creating a cozy atmosphere.
Bedding
-The military coats they pass off as mattresses will inflict unforeseen damage on your back. A mattress pad is a must.
-Buy three sets of XL-Twin sheets in any color other than white or black (for obvious reasons).
Decorations
-Buy a couple of posters to cover up the barren blocky walls.
-Buy a mirror.
